Why do I have to install Skype or Windows Live Messenger?

Gogrok is used primarily for sharing applications and remote collaboration. Currently Gogrok needs to be paired with Skype or Windows Live Messenger to provide voice and text messaging services and online presence. Our design concept was based on users already having instant messaging/internet telephone experience, and building on this by providing online collaboration. The latest version of Gogrok supports Skype and Windows Live Messenger. Just choose one and you are ready to go.

I've already signed in to MSN; why can't Gogrok detect it?

Under Windows XP there is a built-in Windows Messenger that is different from the MSN people normally use (which is officially called Windows Live Messenger. Actually, certain MSN functions rely on both softwares to achieve remote control. In some situations Gogrok may be unable to detect MSN; for example, if you have installed an optimized version of XP, or have manually uninstalled Windows Messenger. In this case please go to the Microsoft download center and reinstall Windows Messenger; then restart MSN and Gogrok.

Microsoft has also made changes, so that Vista is not affected by these problems.

Skype neglected to include the Skype Extra administrator installation option in the recently released version 4.0. Skype Extra administrator is essential for software that works with Skype, and Gogrok cannot detect Skype unless it is present. Until Skype can fix this problem, please reinstall Skype Extra administrator tools as follows:

1. Exit Skype and Gogrok
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files and create a new folder named Skype
3. Download the compressed Skype4com file
4. Extract to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Skype folder
5. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
(or go to Start > Run > and enter "cmd")
6. If you are using Vista, right click and select "Run as Administrator"
7. type "cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Skype" and press enter
8. type "regsvr32 Skype4COM.dll" and press enter to register Skype4com.dll on your computer
9. Restart Skype and Gogrok

How can I improve the sound quality of Windows Live Messenger?

You can try using Skype to see if you get better results. Gogrok relies on instant messaging software for voice features, so sound quality depends on the messaging software itself.

Why does Skype allow one-to-two connections, but Windows Live Messenger only allows one-to-one?

Windows Live Messenger currently only supports one-to-one, and Gogrok relies on its voice features, so currently, using Windows Live Messenger Gogrok only supports one-to-one connections. In the future we will provide other choices for voice service that will allow more contacts to simultaneously use Gogrok.

Can I disconnect some or all voice connections with meeting participants?

Yes. By default Gogrok establishes voice connections via Skype or MSN on startup; You can use the icons to disconnect one or more voice connections. In the future we will release other voice call options and allow users to choose whether or not to automatically establish voice connections before they start Gogrok.
